Velocity Machine Works follows a structured, collaborative manufacturing process designed to reduce risk, improve quality, and keep projects moving forward. From our Tallahassee, Florida facility, we support customers through every stage of manufacturing—from early design discussions to final delivery.
Our process is built around one simple principle: decisions made early have the greatest impact. By engaging early and working collaboratively, we help ensure parts are manufacturable, scalable, and built to perform.
A Collaborative, End-to-End Approach
Unlike traditional job shops that focus on isolated steps, Velocity Machine Works supports the full manufacturing lifecycle. Our process integrates design, prototyping, CNC machining, inspection, assembly, and delivery under one roof.
This reduces handoffs, improves communication, and allows us to solve problems before they become costly delays. Whether you’re building a first prototype or managing an ongoing production program, our team stays involved at every stage.
STEP 1
Design & Manufacturability Review
Every project begins with understanding intent. We review designs, drawings, or concepts with manufacturability in mind—evaluating materials, tolerances, geometry, and cost drivers.
Our machinists and engineers collaborate to identify opportunities for improvement before machining begins.
STEP 2
Prototyping & Validation
Once the design is aligned, we move into rapid prototyping. Prototypes are machined using production-intent materials and processes, allowing for accurate testing of fit, function, and performance.
This step helps validate assumptions and minimizes redesign during production.
STEP 3
Precision CNC Machining
With designs validated, parts move into CNC milling and turning. Our machining process focuses on accuracy, repeatability, and consistency across materials and volumes.
Because machining is handled in-house, we maintain tight control over tolerances, surface finish, and scheduling.
STEP 4
Inspection & Quality Control
Inspection is integrated throughout the process—not just at the end. Dimensional checks and quality verification ensure parts meet design intent before moving downstream.
This proactive approach reduces scrap, rework, and delays.
STEP 5
Assembly, Packaging & Delivery
For multi-part components, we provide assembly services to deliver finished, production-ready parts. Packaging and shipping are coordinated to protect precision components and simplify logistics.
Our process doesn’t stop at machining—we stay involved through final delivery.
